Abbie Kroll is an 11-year-old 6th grader in CCSD Challenge Middle School. Her favorite subjects are Math, Science, Music, and Art. She began piano at the age of 5 with Mrs. Carolyn Shaak. By the time she was 6, she performed Haydn Concerto in C both the 1st and 3rd movements with Colorado’s Inside the Orchestra and began participating in local piano competitions and recitals at 7. She was a semi-finalist in 2018 CSMTA Rising Star Piano Competition and the 2018 IKOF Piano Competition. Abbie also performed in the Honors Recital in the Interlochen Art Camp Advanced Piano division. She is a Gold Medalist in the Global Melodies Piano Competition in 2017 and 2018. She won 1st place in 2019 CSMTA Rising Star Piano Competition and 2nd place in Yamaha Competition Advanced Competitive Division II. Abbie is currently studying piano with Mrs. Jasmine Steadman, who has been a wonderful teacher, great mentor, and inspiration to Abbie. Besides piano, Abbie is a black belt Tae Kwon Do, a Colorado Junior Girl Scout, and is a member of a Chinese Folks Dance Academy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, snowboarding, swimming, painting, and baking.
